When you read the Origin Story of Sheriff Triibeard, you discover that the name comes from a combination of J.R.R. Tolkien's wise and beloved The Lord of the Rings character "Treebeard" and the Nintendo "Wii" gaming system. In both names, the double vowels are pronounced with the long e sound you hear in "bee," "skiing," and "Hawaii." Such is the case for the double vowels in the Sheriff's name.

So then, Triibeard is pronounced exactly the same as Treebeard.

At some point, we'll learn about the Sheriff's Scandinavian distant ancestor Triigaard, a strong, wise, and double-double-vowelled sage of the primeval Nordic realms.

But that will have to wait for another time.
